The Alpha Phi Foundation is the proud philanthropic partner of Alpha Phi International Fraternity, with a mission of “advancing women’s lives through the power of philanthropy”. Alpha Phi officially adopted Women’s Heart Health as a priority in 1946, which became the Foundation’s philanthropic priority upon its founding in 1956.

Alpha Phis are committed to benefitting our philanthropy, the Alpha Phi Foundation, which supports women’s heart health. Heart Disease is the number one killer of women, more than all forms of cancer combined. Alpha Phi helps this cause in many ways, most importantly through the Heart to Heart grant, a $100,000 contribution given by the Alpha Phi Foundation to the organization(s) that are doing the most innovative research in improving women’s heart health. Clemson Alpha Phi directly supports our own community by raising money for the most innovative and driven physicians in the upstate! Our most recent donation recipient was Dr. Patel with the Greenville Health System for her work promoting and taking care of young women suffering from congenital heart disease in South Carolina.

Heart Health Week

We enjoy coming together every February and spreading the word about women’s heart health! We table on library bridge, hold a blood donation drive on campus, collaborate with local restaurants and boutiques for proceeds nights, hand out snacks, stickers, heart health facts, and more. We work diligently to educate and involve the students on Clemson’s campus in supporting Women’s Heart Health.

Red Dress Gala

The Red Dress Gala is Alpha Phi’s main philanthropy event, held during the spring semester each year. Families, friends and alumnae are invited to enjoy an elegant evening of food, drink and fun at a formal venue. All proceeds from the Red Dress Gala benefit the Alpha Phi Foundation and Greenville Health System.
In 2023, the Red Dress Gala was a huge success! The night included a sit down dinner, speeches from Dr. Eveleen Randall from Prisma Health, a silent auction, a live auction, and a raffle. Many of our lucky guests won great items such as tropical getaways, concert tickets, autographed Clemson football paraphernalia, and so much more! Our 2023 Red Dress Gala raised over $50,000 for the Alpha Phi Foundation! This event brings together our chapter and the surrounding community to raise awareness for a cause we hold so close to our hearts.

Homecoming Week

In 2019, Alpha Phi was one of three organizations in the winning group of the homecoming float building contest! Our homecoming chair, Brandi, got to go on the football field at halftime to receive a check towards our philanthropy, the Alpha Phi Foundation! We spend all week pomp-ing an intricate float pertaining to the year’s theme. Everyone comes out to Bowman field to work on the float all hours of the night while listening to music and having fun with our sisters!
